From Bailey’s Gift to Bailey’s Promise

In a groundbreaking move to enhance school safety, Artificial Intelligence Technology Solutions, Inc. (AITX) and its subsidiary Robotic Assistance Devices, Inc. (RAD) have launched “Bailey’s Promise”, a nationwide initiative providing free real-time firearm detection AI software to every K-12 school in the United States.

This innovative program aims to transform existing surveillance cameras into intelligent, proactive safety systems, giving schools the ability to detect firearms instantly and respond before potential threats escalate. While the software itself is free, participating schools pay a one-time $499 onboarding fee and a $99 monthly service cost, which ensures proper system setup and ongoing support for up to 10 camera integrations. Additional cameras can be added at 50% off the standard rate, making the solution scalable for larger campuses.

From Bailey’s Gift to Bailey’s Promise

Bailey’s Promise expands on RAD’s earlier Bailey’s Gift program, which provided firearm detection hardware to a limited number of schools. Now, RAD removes cost barriers for schools with compatible camera infrastructure, allowing rapid deployment of the software across the country.

The initiative is named in honor of Bailey Holt, a 15-year-old who tragically lost her life in a school shooting in 2018. Her mother, Secret Holt, has been a strong advocate for RAD’s mission:

“The fact that RAD is now offering this technology to every school means everything to me,” said Holt. “No school should hesitate. If this software can help prevent even one tragedy, it’s worth it.”

RAD CEO and founder Steve Reinharz added:
“We hear it every time – thoughts, prayers, statements of concern. But now the technology exists to actually do better. Bailey’s Promise gives every school the power to detect firearms before a tragedy unfolds. It costs nothing. It requires no new hardware. If we truly care about protecting our kids, the time to act is right now.”

How Bailey’s Promise Works

Schools simply enroll in the program and integrate the software with their existing IP-based security cameras. Once operational, the AI continuously scans for visible firearms, triggering alerts and initiating emergency response protocols within seconds.

Key features include:

  • Rapid firearm detection in real-time
  • Automatic activation of visual and audible alerts
  • Mobile notifications and emergency escalation
  • Integration with existing lockdown and mass notification systems

With over 3 million school cameras installed nationwide, Bailey’s Promise can instantly convert existing infrastructure into life-saving protection, without the need for new hardware or complex reconfigurations.

Expert Endorsements

Security professional Jeff Slotnick, CPP, PSP, praised the program:
“Bailey’s Promise removes the financial and logistical barriers that have slowed adoption of proactive firearm detection in schools. RAD’s approach is practical, proven, and immediately deployable.”

RAD has also submitted the software for SAFETY Act designation through the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, potentially extending important liability protections for schools that deploy the system.

AITX continues to redefine the $50 billion U.S. security industry with AI-driven solutions designed to reduce costs and improve safety. Bailey’s Promise represents a major step forward in leveraging technology to protect children, staff, and campuses nationwide.
